Saturday. Owing to the fact that the Canterbury men will not arrive in Wellington in time to play on Monday, the inter-provincial malch has had to be postponed till Tuesday next. It is generally understood the day will be kept as a separate holiday. The newly-organised amalgamation of Friondly Societies Funeral Reform Association is making considerable progress. It has been resolved that wives of members of tLo various friendly societies should be permitted to become members
of the Association. The Association, it, is thought, will adopt the rules of the Victorian Society, under which a person can bo buried plainly for £2 15s, or with coach and pair for £3 Ids. Sailed: Wairoa, for London, with 4660 bales of wool, and 134 casks tallow, value £93,649; Young Dick, for Kaipara.
