The Australian anti-fever tree—that is the blue gum, or eucalyptus globules—h*» now spread its fame throughout the world, but there aro many who do not properly estimate . its splendid qualities. It has been estimated that the Australian blue, gumn, which stud, the face of the colony, contain about fire hundred million gallons of pure volatile oil, that is the mortal foe of fever and ague. Every day in the year the forests of the colony are ' giving out- and exhaling, iv the form of vapor, an aromatic fragrance to our breezes, and a health-giving eceence to our people. This fact is now recognised by all the scientists in the world. ITS CLAIM AS A CURATIVE. It has now become the fashion with the inventors or diecoTprers of remedial agent* to claim something little short of infallibility and universality of cure for their respective agents. Messrs Sander and Sons did nothing of the sort. They have confidence that their essence possesses many virtues j but the full extent of llie*e tbey do not know yet. They are now collecting dtiia, and they are rcoab careful and searching in performing this. It is quite sure then, Mint their eucalypti essence can fttirly assert itself to be a grand panacea for many of tho \\U that flesh is heir' to. In Scarlet, Typhoid, or any case of Fever, no'bine; will protect betterfagainst contagion than a few drops of the essence poured iv the pttlm of the hand,'and rubbed in, in order to' _ liberate the vapor*, or sprinkled over the clothes.
