AXYGEN IS LIFE. Although tho modern Matcria Medina includes ninny valuable rcmedi s for human afllictions, it is a matter of certainty that in all eases where the animal vitality is failing, Phosphorus is decidedly superior to every other remedy at present known. It will work effects such as nothing rkc will produce, and it possesses the great advantage of not causing, when its use is relinquished, the slightest reaction or depression. Tho question nnturn'ly presents itself, " Why is so tttluablo an clement so little regurded and so seldom prescribed ? " The onl}' answer which can bo given is :—That a cerlnin difliculty has been found in so preparing it that its action.may be kept under perfect control. Hitherto it has been used in almond and olive oils, in sulphuric cllier, in rectified alcohol, in chloroform, and in several other Btibst'inces ; but howoror valuable it bns been found in till the hitherto known methods of its preparation, certain irregular remits have been experienced, which have led physicians to neglect- it f.ir genernl purposes, nud to employ it only in extreme cases, and aftrr every other remedy has failed. But. a chemical ' process has now besn discovered, bj* which its invaluable action on the hutnnn system may be realised without any of those drawbacks which previous modes of administration have invariably produreil. $W Caution- — PHOSPHORUS is 1 sometimes soJd in the form of Pills and Lozenges 5 it should be generally known that every form where SOLID PARTICLES of Phosphorus are in combination is dangerous. It is therefore necessary that the public should be cautioned uguinst the use of any preparation of Phosphorus not perfectly soluble iv water. Protected hy Royal Letters Patent.
