"War between England and
Russia Imminent.
Cabinet Council on Defences of
the Colony.

There is a general opinion that war between England and ifussia is imminent.
Colonel Anderson, commander of the laud forces, and Captain Mandervillc of the Cerberus, have been consulted at a Cabinet meeting as to the defences of the Colony. Both report immediately.
Mr Hugh Georgo was presented with a silver service by the employe's of the Argus on severing his connection with that paper lo occupy a position on the Sydney Morning Herald. Mr George has been connected with the Argus for the List twenty years,
