IT is hereby notified, that, after l,he Ist o January 1876, the use of Impressed Stamp* upon Tra? 6fers of Shares is compulsory but . transfers of shares may be^tamped at a Stamp Office by the Commissioner or a Deputy Oommiesionfr within one month after execa t;on without a fine. Managers and Secretaries of Companies Sharebrokers, and o'hers interested, are recommended to forward, without, delay, each forms of transier as they may require to be impressed, accompanied by the usual requisi* lion and receipt from the Bank of New Zeah.nd for amount thereof, less the authorised discount. Information may be obtained at any Stamo Office. " ¥ The provisions of the Act relating hereto are as follow:— " 47. (1.) Except where express provision is ma c to the contrary, a)l duties »re to be denoti d by impressed stamps only." " 102. No transfer of any share or shares of or in the stock or funds of any coiporation company, er society whatever in New Zealand sba 1 be registered, recorded, or entered in the books of such corporation, company,' or 8°» e 1 & U£r leB? No instrument of sale or tianifer of any share or shares shall be valid, either at law or in equity, unless the name, of the purchaser or transferee is insened therein at the time of or before the exeoution of the instrument of sale or transfer ; and, if any person executes a sale-note, tran»fer s contractile, or other instrument of sale or transfer, in any manner, or for any purpose whatsoever, aa« le» the n&me of the purchaser is inserted therein at tha time or before the execution thereof, he shall forfeit a sum of not less than £20 or more than £100; .nd, if any inch instrument it i so made or signed, it shall be wholly and absolutely void and inoperative, and shall m no case be made available by the insertion of a name or any other particulars afterwards; and fche personating O r trans, faring such share shall not be divested of hit thereon as if he had never sold or disposed ot the same. And if each person is a licensed eharebroker, his license shall, on any coavichon under fhis section, be .vbsolutely forfeited, and he shall not thereafter be qualified to net as a broker, or to. have a fresh lieanM issued to him. No sharebroker, auctioneer, com* mission agent, or any other person shall be entitled to any brokerage, commission, or any other fee or reward in respect of the sale or transfer of any such share, unless the inBtrumeut of sale "or transfer is filled up with all necestary particulars to make it a complete instrument, and is duly stamped.
