No. 6. — APPLICATION FOE LICENSE TO CONSTRUCT A WATEE EACE. Warden's Office, Grahamstown, 21st June, 1877. A PPLICATION has been made by Louis J\. Ehhenfribd for a license to construct a Water Race for Mining purposes at Pakirarahi, commencing at the Junction-of - the Mcnslcfcown and Barnes' Creek (where the Ajivx flume now -commences), and - terminating at a point about sixty feet below the Ajix Battery. The length of such Race is one mile and a-half, or thereabouts : and its intended course is easterly. The mean breadth and depth of such Rice is two feet by one foot; it is capable of carrying three sluice heads of water, and the number of sluice heads of forty inches each which it is proposed to appropriate is three.' NOTICE is therefore given, that on the 24ch day of July, 1877, a License may be granted to the above-named Louis Ehrenfried for the said Water Race, unless valid objection thereto be in the meantime made in writing, and lodged at this office not lest than seven clear days before that date. The length of such Race is half a mile, or thereabouts, and its intended course is about north-onst. The moan breadth and depth of such, Race is two feefc by one foot; it'is capable of carrying two"sluice heads of water, and the number of sluice, heads of forty inches each which it is propojed to aptropriate is twa.
