Warden's Office, Grahamstown, 2lßt June, 1877. A PPLIOATION has bopn made by Louis J\. Ehbenfbibd ft* a license to construct a Water Race for Mining purposes at Pakirarabi, commencing at the Junction of the Measletown and Barnes' Creek (where j the Ajax flume now commences), and terminating at a point about sixty feet below the Ajax Battery. The length of such Race is one mile and a-half, or thereabouts : and its intended course is eastsrly. The mean breadth and depth of such Race is two feet by one foot; it is capable of canyjrog three sluice heads of water, and the number of sluice heads of forty inches each which it is proposed to appropriate is three. NOTICE is therefore given, that on the 24th day of July, 1877, a License may be granted to the above-named Louis Ehrenfried for the said Water Race, unless valid objection thereto be in the meantime made in writing, and lodged afc this office not less than seven clear days before that date. J. xjL Lea.b for a license to construct a Water Race for mining purposes at Puriri, commencing at a point about half a mile up the left-hand branch of the Purri Creek, and terminating on the sidling of the Spur northward of the junction of th* two branches. The length of such Race is half a mile, or thereabouts, and its intended course is about north-e3st. The mean-breadth and depth of such Race is two feet by one foot; it is capable of carrying two sluice heads of water, and the number of sluice heads of forty inches each which it" is proposed to appropriate is two. NOTICE is therefore given, that on the 24th day'of July, 1877, a license may be granted to the above named L. J.
