CROWN PRINCESS.
Mr J. Hall, late of the Alburnia and Tairua mines, has taken charge of this mine. To-day a start was made at cleaning out the levels, but nothing more will be done till the manager receives further instructions from town, which he expects to get in three or four days. He informs me that the following is the sum and substance of the programme for the future working of the mine:—The two upper levels, Nos. 1 and 2 will be let on tribute. The company will reserve No. 3 level for operations on its own account. A winze will be sunk from the No. 4 level, and the shaft will be sunk 80 feet for a new lev:;., which, as it is now down 326 feet, will make the depth when finished 4CO feet, and a new level will then be extended. This company has for the last couple of years worked their ground, and have had to contend against reverse9,_and to say the least they deserve success for their enterprising efforts.
