MOANATAIRI.
The following is a bf the weekly report of the manager to the directors, which was laid before that body at yesterday's meeting :—Moanatairi G.M.Co. —To the Directors.—Gentlemen,—l have the honor to report as under :—South.: east cross-cut, No. 9 reef, new winze: The main slide has been, struck at a depth of 34 feet in the east eiid; , The slide at this point has more dip than in or about the 80 feet level. The^tolal depth of winze is now 38 feet, ; aqd .1 shall continue sinking it down over the Slide; as far as practicable, in order to effect early communication with the 150 feet level.' The reef on the upper sjde of-the winze shows good colors of "gold", but "is inticir broken, this being in close proximity to clay, and when thus split' tip- it is no,t so productive. The singly stamper has been kept going from here with Satisfactory results; but during the. last -two days the.quality of's&ff has f considerably fallen off.; No. 9 reef in the 80 /get level ..west has been broken down; it is a promising looking lode, 3 feet thick, containing large quantities of iron pyrites" and mundic, but does not shpw r anyfgold. < Nqrth-w;estc^bssrcut: In the drive edit' on the All Nations leader, a few feet more will break into the level east oi No. 9 reef;" the winze sinki^ 1 on til's lc::Jer is down 64 feet; the kst_W..Jfteji_haß.Jbiejßn.|unk..oji,Bjbraofih,. the ' reef being heaved inio the hanging wall* The stopes ; jn^baQk/ol the Spfeet level oh-the different' reefs and lodes 1 are without change to mention. 150' feet level: The chamber is now completed, and the south-east cross-cut extended 8 feet; this jievel will be made of. extra width for a: distance of 20 feet; to admit a double line of rails for transit of quartz, also a siding or station for trucks. No. 9 reef east (or under the slide) has not yet been discovered, and I therefore recommend that a cross-cut be driven south from the tunnel level, 100 feet east from the slide, as I believe the above reef will be intersected within that distance,. The cost of driving will' not exceed 15s per foot. The general cz-ushing is showing up well.. The engine and comprcsser for Ingersoll's rock drill will be fixed and put to work as early as t possible. J.he machinery is all in good working order.— UoBEfiT Comee. manager." There is nothing fresh to report from the mine. At the company's mill,.the company, is employing 30 head and the single'stamper, and Kneebone, and party .and Gavin and party, company's tributers, are using the remaining 10 head—s head each..
