THE Evening Star. PUBLISHED DAILY AT FOUR O'CLOCK P.M. Resurrexi. SATURDAY, JUNE 16, 1877.
A press of telegrams and other matter prevents us from offering any lengthened comments on the mail news, which, it will be seen, explains some matters which were not made very clear by the calograms, and furnishes a highly interesting summary of events since last mail, and of the various complications which are inevitably following close upon the Russo-Turkish struggle. In addition to the mail news we have to-day news by cable to the 14th, which though not recording any decided advantage to ona side or the o"ier shows that the Turks are holding their own. The mail news of a domestic character— both English and American—-is very meagre, but this we shall be able to give at greater length when in possession of our files.
