MINING COMPANY MEETING. Hape Creee G.M. & Q.C. Co. (Ltmited.) A general meeting of the Hape Creek Company was held last evening at the Mechanics' Institute, Graharastown. Mr E. T. Douglas occupied the chair. There was a good attendance. The object of the meeting was to obtain authority to let the surface portions of the company's mine on tribute. On matters being explained the permission was granted. We , may state that the battery will soon be completed, and tenders are called for on Monday next for the erection of engine-house, engine, and poppet-heads on the Tweedside shaft. The efforts made to get all in connection with the company in a forward state, deserve every commendation; not lhe_ least noticeable feature being the application of water power to the battery, a turbine being in course of erection as a substitute for the steam power previously used, the object being economical crushing.
