APPLICATION FOE LICENSE TO CONSTRUCT A WATER RACE. Warden's Office, Grahamstown, 7th June, 1877. A PPLIOATION has been made by Robert J-1l- Thompson Graham for the Phconix Gold Mining Company for a license to construct a Water Race for Mining purposes at Pakirarahi, commencing at a point about 409 yards north-east of the Surrey No. 1 Claim, and terminating at the lower end of the said claim. The length of such Race is 800 yards or thereabouts, and its intended course is north-east and south-west. The mean breadth and depth of such Raca is two feet by nine inches. It i« capable of carrying two sluice heads of water, and the number of sluice heads of forty inches each which it is proposed to appropriate is two* * NOTICE is therefore given, that on the 10th day of July, 1877, a License may be granted to the above-named Phoenix Gold Mining Company (Limited) for the said Water Race, unless valid objection thereto be in the meantime made in writing, and lodged at this office not less than seven clear days before that date. Alien, for a licence to construct a Water Race for mining purposes at Tairua, commencing at the termination of Race applied for by R. Graham for the Phoenix G.M.Co., and terminating at a point half a mile below pa Brothers Greek. The length of such Race ia half a mile or thereabouts, and its intended course is along the course of the Creek. The mean breadth and depth of such Race is two feet by eighteen inches; it is capable of carrying two sluiceheads of water, and the number of sluice heads of forty inches each which it is proposed to appropriate is two. NOTICE is therefore given that on the 10th day of July, 1877, a License may be grarted to the above-named Thomas W.
