TRANSFERS OF SHAKES. j T is hereby notified, that, after-the Ist 0 1 January 1876, tbo use of Imposed Stamps upon^Trai efers of Shares is compulsory; but transfers of shares may be stamped at a<Btamp Office by the Commissioner or « Deputy Commissioner within one month after execu t;on without "a fi-ie. ■ . Managers and Secretaries of Companies Sharebrokerp, and o'hers interested, are re' commended to forward, without delay, such forms of transfor as they mar require to be impressed, accompanied by the umal requisilion and receipt irom the Bank of New Zealand for amount thereof, less the authorized discount. Information may be obtained at any Stamp Office. The provisions of the Act relating hereto are as follow :— "47. (1.) Except where express provision is ma;e to the contrary, all duties *re to be denoted by impressed stamps only " -« 102. No tranefer of any share or shares of or in the stock or funds of any cbiporation company, or society whatever in New Zealand sha 1 be registered, recorded, or entered intbV books of such corporation, company, or society, unless such transfer is duly stumped, 103. No instrument of sale or transfer of any share or shares shall be valid, either at law or in equity, unless the name of the purchaser or transferee is inserted therein at the time of or before the execution of the instrument of Ba le or transfer , and, if any p«rio» executes a *ale.note, transfer, contract-note. or other instrument of aale or transfer, in any manner, or for any purpose whatsoever, an. lees the nume of the purchaser is inserted therein at the fee M before the execution thereof, he shall forfeit a sum of not less thun £20 or more than £100; and, if any such instrument isso made or signed, it shall b« wholly and absolutely void and inoperative, and shall in no case be made available by the insertion of a Bamo or any other particulars alterwards; and the person selling or trans-* ferring such share shall not be divestedcof hi. interest therein, but shall remai# liable thereon os if he had never sold or disposed 61 the same. And if such person is a licensed sharebroker, his license shall, on any coaviction under l his section, ba absolutely forfeited, and he shall not thereafter be qualified . to net as a broker, or to have a fresh UoeoM issued to him. "104. No sharebroker, auctioneer, commission agent, or any other person shall b« entitled to any brokerage, commission, or any other fee or reward in respect of the salt or transfer of any such share,: unless the instrument of sale or transfer is filled up with all necessary particulars to make it a complete icstrument, and is dulj stamped.
