The following report was submitted to the directors at the meeting held at tfce legal manager's office last evening:— "June 4th, 1877. Mr D. G. MacDonnell. —Sir,'—-The contractors, during the past fortnight,vhave driven a dutancs of twelve (12) feet, which I recommend for payment, the amount due being eleven pounds five shillings. The contract on the No. 1 leader being completed the percentage detained is now also due. This will comprise the 25 per cent, on Z?\ feet at 17s per foot, and the same on the remaining 12f feet, at 25s per foot. lam pleased to state that better country is making in the face/and that the leader is improving in size and appearance. —I remain, yours faithfully, E.
