Wakapuaka, Friday, 2 a.m. Sikgapobe, June 7, 8.13 p.m. Lord Derby refuses the proposal to neutralise the Suez Canal, and has informed the Russiad. Ambassador at London, the Porte, and the Khedive that England is determined to disallow warlike operations on the Canal. '.-.;.. London, June 6. It is stated by the Times that Count Schouvaloff, the Russian ambassador in London, is the bearer of a note replying to certain questions raised by England, and further says that the note has special reference to the eventual temporary occupation of Constantinople by Russia. The President of the Paris, Municipal Council has bee3n arrested for attacking Marshal McMahon. June 7. Sir Stafford Northcote has refused to table a copy of the despatch re the Suez Canal, on the ground of inexpediency, though asked to do so by the Marquis of Hartington. A coalition ministry Has been formed at Athens. The Tanjore, with the Suez mail* arrived at Galle on the sixth.
