The Licensing Bench refused applications for new licenses at Craig and Plumber's house, Hobson street, and Jagger's hotel, Great North Road, on which considerable sums hud been expended. --,
At the Kaipara to-day a petition several yards long was presented against the renewal of licenses of "six public houses. The signatures were challenged, and a scrutiny is proceeding.
