NEW CANDLELIGHT.
The directors of this mine have decided I (the decision being arrived at at a meet- ; ing held last evening) to extend a low level tuunel, which was put in by the Mullum in 'arvo, 'into the Candlelight ground. It is expected that the distance this drive will need to be put in to cut the reef is about 60 or 70 feet, and it is expected that the call recently, made will amply cover the expense of this. When this lvde is intersected they will have 500 feet to drive along its course, with backs :;Of. 80 feet. The reef was formerly rich, and "notwithstanding the enormous expense of getting the siuff down it was made payable; It ought to prove amply remunerative now, as the extension of the Waiotahi road-has been carried right up to the mouth of the-tunnel. The original shareholders are sanguine of success, and I have the greatest faith in the mine.
