Warden's Office, Grahamstown, 22nd May, 1877. A PPLIGATION has been made by Jokn XX. D. Wickham for & license to construct a Water Race for Mining purposes at Tairua, commencing at termination of the Ajax G-.M. Co.'s Water Race, and terminating at a point about 200 yards below the Tairua Company's old battery site on main Creek. The length of such It ace is three-quarters of a mile or thereabouts, and its intended course is south-east and north. The mean breadth and depth of such Race is two feet by eighteen inches. If; is capable of carrying two sluice heads of water, and the number of eluice heads of forty inches each which it is proposed to appropriate is ,two» NOTICE is therefore given, that on the 26th day of June, 1877, a License may be granted to the above-named John D.
