Insurance VJ IS W Z E A L A X I) GOVERNMENT LIFE INSURANCE. I—The Government Life. /Insurance Department issues all desirable forms of Policies. TJw Payment of evcri Folicy is guaranteed by the Colony. Participation in Profits is authorised by the Legis lature to W given to Policy-holders. 2-Premium rates are lower than those of Private Companies. 3—No Policy or Medical Fees charged. 4-All Policies are non-forfeit-able after one full annual payment to the full extent oi their value, under a special regulation providing for the contiuuance in force of every Policy for the original amount, until the surrender-value of the Policy is exhausted in payment of premiums. s—Absolute Security from Loss —Insurers, after having paid three full annual premiums, are guaranteed a cash surrender value of not less than 40 per cent, o/ the paid-up premiums j and if for any reason the premiums ere not paid when due, a paidup Policy will be issued, generally equal in amount to the premiums paid, and often much in excess. 6—Thirty days of grace are allowed on all Renewal Premiums. 7—Liberal conditions as to travel ling and residence. B—Policies protected from Bankruptcy- —An iKgurance Policy effected by the Insured, benaf.de on his own life, is protected from bankruptcy or insolvency laws to a certain amount, which increases with its duration. Tnus, after it "has endured for two years, it is protected to the extent of £200; after five years, to £500; after seven years, to £1000; after ten years, to £2000. This protection applies only in favour of . the personal representative of the Insured. 9—Married women may effect Poli cies, dispose of the money by will, os if single j and their Policies are protected from the debts of their husbands, according to duration, to amounts similar to those stated above. 10—Settlement Policies-—Policies effected for the benefit, of the -wife and "children of the Insured arc absolutely protected from the claims of creditors to the extent of £2000, provided that the premiums are payable during life, or any period not less than seven years. If apportionment is not made at the time, it can be subsequently made by will. . 11—Probate, &c., dispensed with —When a claim under a Policy does not exceed £200, the Commissioner may dispense with the production of Probate or Letters of Administration, thus saving great expense to the representatives of the Insured. 12—Prompt payment of Claims and no discount charged. "THE STAMP ACT, 1875/' NOTICE, SECTION 121 (1) of "Tbe Stamp Act, 1875," provides that every person taking possession of, or receiving or paving any moneys belonging to, or accruing from, the property (realty as well as personalty) of any person dying on and after Ist January next, withoiit having firßt filed the required statement and paid the duties assessed thereon, shall forfeit a Bum not exceeding £500. Whether probate or letters oi administration are grar-ted by aiij Court or not, a statement of all property w.ust be filed and duties paid before the property or any part thereof of any deceased person is in any manner dealt with. ■ On payment of the proper duties, the probate or letters received from the Court, or the statement of property in other coses, will be stamped and delivered to the person entit'ed thereto. 1 . Forms of this statement (L) may be obtatained tit any Stamp' Office, at:the offices of Registrars and Clerks of the Supremo,and District Courts, and from the,Poßtmaster Depositaries throughout the colony, from whom also may be obtained further information.
