The Phoebe" arrived^-fiidte/laU nigh j having been compelled to' put bae'e through s|r;ess ; of weather. On Wednesday j and Fridaysheexperienced a terrific northrwest gale, and on the morning of the latter day her main topsaii blew away, and they had to, put thehelm up and run before the gale. At midnight it somewhat abated, and Captain Kennedy, considering he had not enough coal left to make the passage to Sydney* determined to run for Wellington. He says he never experienced a fiercer gale.
