Warden's Office, Grahamstown, 22nd May, 1877. \ PPLICATION has been made by Jokn J\. D. "Wickhatn for a license to construct a Water-Race for Mining purposes at Tairua, - commencing at termination of the Ajax Or M. Co.'b Water Race, and terminating at a point about 200 yards below the Tairoa ' Company's old battery site on main Creek. The length'of inch B ace is three-quarters of a mile or thereabouts, and its intended course. is south-east and norlh. The mean breadth ' and depth of such Race is two feet by eighteen* inches. It is capable of carrying two sluice heads of water, and the number of isluice heads of forty inches each which it is proposed to appropriate is two* . NOTICE is therefore given, that on the 26th day^ of June, ;1877, a License may " be grantee! to the above-named. John D.
