The manager has no other work proceeding at present but the opening out on the No. 5 reef from the winze sunk from the Crown to the Caledonian No. 1 level. The quartz taken out is evidently of good quality, and though nothing much has been obtained as yet some gold has been seen. As soon as a sufficient parcel has been accumulated from the reef crushing will commence, probably ajj, the Tararu battery. " '-';'" . McLean and party, triKifters, will be crushing this week, and expect a fair result, and one or two other parties will follow.
