j „ The Stock Exchange, May 26th. ; There was cpnsidera'ole activity in the Share Market during the early part of the week, and a large amount of business transacted in the principal stocks. Moanalairi sales from £12 68 to £13 10s, but after some fluctuations closed at opening rates, viz., sel'.ers £12 103, buyerj/£l2 ss.>, Alburnia—A Jarge number of shares have "changed hands from 62s to 665, closing slightly easier, with sellers 65s Cd. Caledonian dull; few transactions from £5' to £4 17s 6d. Sellers now *boiit £s'2s 6d. -Kui-aniii Hill-i-The market opened with a strong demand for; this stock. Sales from 30s <io 355,- closing sellers^ 34s 6d, no declared, buyers. Cure—Steady demand-from 10s to 12s, and haye sellers about 123. Red Queen— A limited business at, 4s jt^ ; 4s 3d, closingprice 4s 3dj nominal. VVaitekauri— Busirfess.'doiie at.i.7s, and have sellers at that figureWelcome—Sales ,'-5« ,9d, and have buyers at 5s 6d. fonng Now. Zealand-Sales>6s, to 6s .6d, closing firm, buyers *6s 6d. Queen of: Beauty—Show a decline, sales from 20s 6d to 25s 6<i, with sellers 255. Queen of the May advanced rapidly from 21s to : 2ss for double at.the beginning of the week^ but closed very weak, sellers-, 325. City of' London—ln fair demand about lls 6dj sales 12s Piakb—Sales from 10s Sd.to 10s, and there are now buyers at 9s, sellers 10s.
