Sergeant Garland of the Constabulary left to-day per Ruby, his place being supplied by Sergeant Russell, Police Department. Sergeant Garland has won for. himself many friends by his gentlemanly manner, and his iremoval, we hope, will lead to promotion.
A Native named Heta goes down in custody of Sergeant Garland to answer the charge of stealing a saddle, and the more serious charge of horse stealing will likely be brought against him.
The weather has opened favorable for the Queeri's Birthday ; it will, no doubt* be takon advantage of by holiday-making with you, the latter being a stage at which we have not yet arrived.
