MOANATAIRI.
To-day, as was anticipated, the reef that was stripped in the winze was broken down, and the result was 2Colbs of fine picked stone. This is the first find of any real importance that has been made in the winze, and, to say the least, it is rery encouraging, and it will probably turn out that the run is near at hand. Shots were fired in the middle and western stopes to-day, which had the effect of bringing down one hundred-' weight of rich specimens, and there is a good show left. In the other lodes in the mine there is nothing of any particular importance to report. The manager retorted last night, being in want of quicksilver, which was absorbed in the amalgam in hand, and the result, was a rery good one, as it amounted to 907 ounces. The manager thought that it was probable that there will-be another retorting before ihe end of the week, but it is likely that that no gold will be banked till the end of this week. Thefollowing is the copy of to-day's bulletin : — "2cwt good picked stone from new winze ; gold showing freely in bottom, lcwt specimens from middle and west stopes, No. 9 reef; gold showing. 907 ounces gold on hand.—Robt. Comeb."
