PRINCE IMPERIAL.

Mr W> Bowe^ who has the management, of this mine, started some men yesterday to clear out the levels with a view of resuming operations, and the engine has been started for that .purpose. What further will be -done is not yet known. The mine has been unworked (except by tributers) for a period extending over two or three years, :

QUEEN OF BEAUT JT. At the battery the crushing is .showing up.for a return something like that of the •previous fortnight. The manager of the mine is at present employed filling up the worked out stopes, and has constructed temporary^ tramways from the mullock tip to the shaft for that purpose. He reports that the reef continues look well, and that some nice-looking stones were obtained at the end of. last week from the Cifcy of London end of the mine. The cross-reef and No. 2 lode at the Piako end are also looking well, and are producing crushing dirt of a good grade.

„ cure. ■■.;■-■ ■ v---.;. The tributers, McKenzie and ; p3rty,;arG employe'! sinking a winze from.the Caledonian No.~l level to meet a rise from the No. 2, the winze being sunk on the No. 6 reef. It will be remembered that this party had a rich crushing last week. The parcel that was crushed last Ireek was taken from the winze about half a dozen feet from the No. 1 level, and it is to be regretted; that they will not get much-more of the rich stuff, as the stuff taken from the risei now .only two,or three; feet froni the winze, has proved poor. The fact of the reef getting richer going upwards should be a great encouragement to the company to. continue their operations on the upper sections of this lode. Johns and party, and Nankervis and party will be crushing this week. The latter party start to-morrow at the Euranui mill, and their parcel will amount to about 8 or 9 tons, and there probably be a payable return. , ;
