OLD GOLDEN CALF.
The new. apparatus for hauling the stuff frcm the lower level via the winze has storied work, and is working very well, answering the-purpose of the designer, Mr Macdoaald, splendidly. In ibe drive -at Ihe foot of the; winze'the No. 3 reef is being both driven and stoped upon. The lode is really looking well, gold having been seen in it several times during the past- week. , Arrangements rave been made by the directors wuasevfir-\ of fie adjoining mines to extend the 330 feet level of the Ca!edor>;pn shaft up to the Moanatairi, Not only will this thoroughly drain the country through which it passes, bat it may uncover some valuable lode.
