TRANSFEBS OF SHARES. ][ T is hereby notified, that, wfterthb Ist o L January 1876, the use of Impressed Stamps upon Transfers of Shares is compulsory, but transfers of shares may be stamped at • Stamp .Office by the Commissioner or a Deputy Commissioner within one month after exeou t»on without a fine. Managers and Secretaries of Companies, fiharebrekers, and o'hers interested, an recommended to forward, without, delay, such forms of transfer as they may require to be impressed, accompanied by the usual requisi- ' tion and receipt from the Bank sf New Zealand for amount thereof, less the authorised discount. ■' -' i Information may be obtained at any Stamp i Office. - r.v. The provisions of the Act relating hereto are as follow:— - ov . "47. (1.) Except whew express provision is ma.!e to the contrary, all dutiesun to b« - denoted by impressed stamps only." . " 102. No transfer of any share or shares of or m the stock or funds of any corporation, company, or society whatever.in New Zealand shall be registered, recorded, or entered in the books of such corporation, eompanyi or society, unless such transfer is duly stamped. No instrument of sale ©/transfer of any share, or shares shall be Valid, either' at - law or in equity, unless the name of the par- ' j chaser or transferee is inserted therein at the time of or before the execution of the irittr*- - ment of sale or transfer ; and, if any person executes a sale>note, transfer, contract-not*, or other instrument of sale or transfer, in any manner, er for any purpose .whatsoever, mt* less the name of the purchaser is, inserted therein at the tine or before the execation , thereof, he shall forfeit a sum of not, less than £20 or more than'£loo; and r if any such instrument is so made or signed, it shall to wholly and absolutely void,and inoperative, and shall m no case be made available by.the insertion of a name or any other particulars afterwards; and the person selling or tranfr. femng such share shall, not be divested of his interest therein,- but shall remain I'liable1 'liable thereon as if he had never sold or disposed ot the same; Andif such person is alien*** sb.arebroker, bis license shall, on,any txMvicUon .under this section* be .absolutely forfeited, and he shall qottberealter.be qualified to act as a broker, or to have afresh Uomie - issued to him. - ; "104.
