FEARFUL ACCIDENT AT THE Shortland Saw Mill.

A very painful accident happened this afternoon to a son of Mr Robert Skeen, at the Shortland Saw Mill. It seems young Skeen and another man were engaged lacing a belt underneath the sawing floor, and the belt by some means was set in motion, carrying the unfortunate young man over a sbai pulley fully .10 feet from the ground. His right arm is broken in several places, and his left leg and foot are greatly crushed. As soon as the accident occurred Mr McVey sent a constable with the news of the accident to the Hospital, and by the time Skeen reached that institution l)rs Perston and O'Flaherty had every means at hand to relieve his sufferings and attend to his injuries.
