WAITEKAURI.
■: The following ' very encouraging report was received to-day: —" Waitekauri mine, April 16th, 1877—Directors of the Waitekauri Goldmining .and Quartz-crushing Company.—Gentlemen,—l beg to forward the following report of last week : I have driven the main lower level drive fifty feet. south of the No. 2 winze'; at that distance the foot-wall lode junctions with the main reef, making a large body of stone 18 feet in width, and carrying good golden stone. On the 160 level the drive to the south of the winze is in 50 feet; the reef is opening out and showing a little gold. On the north side the drive is in 48 feet; the reef is eight feet iv width, showing some good golden stone. In the* leading stopes both north and south of the -winze on the 160 feet level, the reef is eighteen feet wide, showing first rate golden stone. I have been keeping the battery fully employed and :the stone is turning out about the same amount of amalgam per day as it did per day last week.-I—l remain, gentlemen, yours obediently, Chas. H.
