IT is hereby notified, that, after the Ist o January 1876, the use of Impressed Stamps upon Transfers of Shares is compulsory, bat transfers of shares may be stamped at a Stamp Office by the Commissioner or a Deeutv Commissioner within one month after exeeu ton without a fine. Managers and Secretaries of Companies. Skarebroker*, and others interested, are re' commended to forward, without delay, such forms of trans/or ns they may require to be impressed, accompanied by the usual requisiuon and rocoipt from the Bank of New Zealand for amount thereof, less the authorized discount. No instrument of sale or transfer of ' any share or shares shall be valid, either at law or in equity, unless the name of the pur- .* chaser or transferee is inserted therein at the '' time of or before the execution of the instrument of sale or transfer ; and, if any person executes a lale^noto, transfer, contracEnote, or other instrument of sale or transfer, in any manner, or for any purpose whatsoever, on' less the tuime of the purchaser it inserted therein at the thr.e or before the execution Uiereofi he shall forfeit a sum of not lass than £20 or more than £100; and, if any such instrument is so made or signed, it shall be wholly and absolntely void and inoperative, and shall in no case be made available by tht insertion of a same or any other particulars afterwards; and f-he person sellinror trans, faring such share shall not be divested of his interest therein, but shall remain liable thereon as if he had never sold or dispoeed oi the same. No sharebroker, auctioneer, commission agent, or any other person shell be entitled to any brokerage, commission, or any other fee or reward in respect of the tale or transfer of any such share, unless the instrument of sale or transfer is filled lip with all necessary particulars to make it a complete instrument, and is duly stamped.
