General Notices " STAMP ACT, 1875." TRANSFERS OF SHAKES. . I T is hereby notified, that, after the Ist o 1 January 1876, the use of Impressed Stamps upon Transfers of Shares is compulsory, bat transfers of shares may be stamped at« Stamp Office by the Commissioner er • Deputy Commissioner within one month after exec* ' t;on without a fine. Managers and Secretaries of Companies Sharebrekers, and others interested, are recommended to forward, without delay, such forms of transfer as they may require to be impressed, accompanied by the usual requisi> tion »nd receipt from the Bank of New Zea- - land for amount thereof, less the authorized discount. ! Information may be obtained at any Stamp Office. * The provisions of the Act relating hereto are as follow:— ■ "47. (1.) Except where express provision is ma, c to the contrary, all dufies <ire to be denoted by impressed stamps only." " 102. _Jfo transfer of any share or shares of or m the stock or funds of any coiporation company, or society what ever in New Zealand ' shall be registered, recorded, or entered in the books of such corporation, company, or '°T^h USr leß? No instrument of sale or transfer of any share or shares shall be valid, either at law or in equity, unless the name of the purchuser or transferee is inserted therein at the time of or before the execution of the instrument of sale or transfer ; and, if any person - executes a nale-note, transfer, contract-note, or other instrument of sale or transfer, in any manner, or for any purpose whatsoever, un ' lees the name of the purchaser is insertedtherein at the tise or before the exception thereof, he shall forfeit a sum of not kst than £20 or more than £100; and, if any sneh instrument is to made or signed, it shell be wholly and absolutely void and inoperative, and shall in no case be made available by the insertion of a name or any ether particulars « afterwards; and the person selling Or trans, ' fernng such share shall not be divested of hit interest therein, but shall remain liable thereon as if he had* never sold or disposed of the same. And if such person is a lisessed sharebroker, his license shall, on any conviction under this section, be absolutely forfeited, and he shall not thereafter be qualified to »ct as a broker, or to hare a fresh license issued to him. -• "104. No sharebroier, auctioneer, commission agent, or any other person shell be , entitled to any brokerage, commission,or . any other fee or reward in respect of the Hie or transfer of any such share, unless the instrument of sale or transfer is filled up witk all necessary particulars to make it a complete irstrument, and is duly stamped.
