AUCKLAND.
This day.
The trial of Gordon for indecent assault is proceeding to-day. The evidence of the girl is mostly unfit for publication. She deposed that prisoner was lying on the sofa, and got up and kissed her, locked the door, and carried her into the bedroom and kept her there a quarter of an hour. She was afraid to cry out, prisoner looked so wicked and cruel. Prisoner's little boy came in before the door was locked. Prisoner slapped his face and turned him out. The medical evidence disclosed severe injuries.
The opening of a new Masonic Lodge at Eemuera takes place to-night and promises to be a great success. .■■/■
