TRANSFERS OF SHARES. 1 T is hereby notified, that, after the Ist o 1 January 1876, the use of Impressed Stamnt upon Trarsfers of Shares is compulsory, but transfers of shares may bestampedafcafltamn Ofhce by the Commissioner or a Denutv Commissioner within one month after exeou t;on without a fine. -Managers and Secretaries of Comtmnfc,, , Sharebrokem, and others interested, art re' commended to forward, without delay, such forms of transfer as they may require to be impressed, accompanied by the usual:requisi. non and receipt from the Bank of New Zeahnd for amount thereof, less the authorised discount. • Information may be obtained at any Stamp The provisions of the Act relating hereto are as follow:~ " "47. No instrument of sole or transfer of. any share or shares shall,be valid, either at law or in equity, unless tbe name of the purchaaer or transferee is inserted therein at the time of or before the execution of tho instrument of sale or transfer ; and, if any person executes a sale-note, transfer, contracEnote. or other instrument of sale or transfer, in any manner, or for any purpose whatsoever, on' less the name of the purchaser is inserted thereof, he shall forfeit a sum of not less tham £20 or more than £100; and, if any *uok instrument is so made or signed, it shall be wholly and absolutely void and: inoperative, and shall in no case be made available by the insertion of a name or any other particulars afterwards; and the person selling or trail* fernng such sharo shall not be divested of hi* interest therein, but shall remain liable thereon as if he had never sold or disposed bt the same: And if such person is a lieeued aharebroker, his license shall, on any conviction under this section, ba absolutely forfeited, and he shall not thereafter fee qualified to act as a broker, or to have a fresh license issued to him.
