He pleaded guilty, and wag fined 10s and costs, or 24 hours' imprisonment. " ~' ILLEGAL LOTTEBY. J. Mahoney was charged with illegally disposing, of certain lottery tickets at Shortland, on the 4th inst.

Defendant pleaded not guilty. .; Sergt. MulviUe'r"who conducted the prosecution, stated the case, and produced a lottery box and a number of tickets, on which were written the prizes. Detective Brennan and another witness gave, evidence in support of the charge. Fined 10s and coats. Court adjourned.
