By-Law of the Thames County CoTTyciii, made under special order of I be said Council, dated the 30th day, of January, 1877, confirmed the 28th day of February, 1877, and sealed with the common seal of tho said Council the sth . day of March, 1877, In pursuance of the powers vested in them under " The Counties Act, 1876," tbo Council of the County of Thames ordain as follows, that is to say —The word" Slaughter-house" shall, for the purpose of this By-Law, mean and include the Buildiiips, Yards, and Premises in respect of which any license may bo granted under such By-Law. (1). No Building cr Premises within the County shall be usea as a place for the Slaughtering of Sheep or Cattle not tho property of the owner of the Building or Premises, except licensed as hereinafter mentioned ; nor shall any Building or Premises, unless licensed as aforesaid, t{e used for ttte Slaughtering of Sheep, Swine, or Cattle the. property of the owner .after notice served upon such owner, or left for him on ■uch Premises, requiring such owner to discontinue such user, or ._ to- take, out a .license under this By-Law for such Buildings and PremisesV , , ' ," (2). Any owner" or beenpier of Premises may,apply.to ,the ©ouncil fora license to' use the same as a Slaughter-house, such application to be in writing m the, form set out in Schedule No. 1, hereto affixed, and to be lodged with the County Clerk. (3). For each such license there shall be paid' by the licensee to the County Fund; a fee of not less than £5, or exceeding £25 ; and each license shall remain in force ' until the 31st, day of December following'the' I"date of such li- * cense. (4). Every licensed < Slaughter-house ! shall be kept clean, and the Buildings scraj>ed, lime-washed, and purjfied,. so that no noxious or injurious effects, mayjaecriie to the public, from such Slaughterhouse. . v *. (5). Every licensee shall keep at all times, legibly written with-ink, a Hegister!ir.a<formb o be obtained from theAppnnty. J ClMk r -.gf all Sheep/and' Cattle slaughtered at his licensed Premises, with the brand or mark on each Sheep or Head of Cattle, and shall, if so directed by the' Council, transmit to the County Clerk a copy of the , - entries made in-' suchj during the then previous seven days. There shall not be admitted into any licensed Premises^any animal which', -' from injury or other caube, would not, when killed, be ' fit for human foodj nor shall there be Bo,admitted"ttie carcase of any animal unfit for human ,feod. . (7). Every licensee shall give immediate notice in writing to the County Clerk, and to the Inspee- | tor of Slaughter-houses, of any < diseased animal being brought,to - such licensed Slaughterhouse for < ' slaughter.' ''lv-: • ■' (8). All* animals--received into pens, ' stalls, or yards-; belonging -to ,licensed Slaughterhouses shall be properly, watered and fed." (9). Every licensee shall admit to the licensed Premises', at any hour of the day or night, any.Officer of the Cpuncil - or" of the Armed - ' Constabulary.'
