A SAMOAN HEAD-DRESS.
Speaking of the return '-of United States Consul Griffin as Commissioner from Samoa, the Louisville Commercial incidentally says t "Among the curiosities which he brought home wqs the head-dress which the Princess Lonoluno, niece of one of the ex-kings, is to wear when she is married. It consists of a band to fit. the head, to which is attached a profusion of white satin-like ribbons of about a foot in length, made of the skin of the cocoanut between the meat and the shell. It is a head-dress which one of our belles would not disdain to wear, and 1b a marvel of Bkilful fabrication. It is to be carried back to Samoa. Mr Griffin describes this Princess as a beautiful maiden of 18, of fair complexion, with large, lustrous eyes, a profusion of long, sott, black hair, and a most musical voice." ' T *
