CITY OF LONDON.
The'sinking'of the winze from' the No. 3 to the No. 4 level has..been completed. The winze followed'the No. 4 reef down, and just before breaking through into the" level-the-lode looked well. Stoping has been commenced, and yesterday some good colors of goid .'were obtained in the breaking down. The winze on the r cross-lode has proved that that reef is at least eight feet through, but it may be^krger, at neither of the walls have been cut. It is a good strong body of stone, and a little gold is seen occasionally. As soon as the hoppera.are full the manager intends to recommence crushing at Bull's battery. This will probably be some time next week. Concerning the tributers little can be said at present. Johns and party are en*
gaged breaking but a parcel which they will shortly send to the mill, and it is expected to yield pretty well. Hoskins and party and Dunstone and party, two lots of tributers-who had only recently taken up their sections, have been unablo to make •them pay, and have thrown them up.
