County Council THAMES COUNTY BY-LAWS. THE undermentioned By-Laws of tho Thames County Council are heroby published by order of the Council, and Notice is hereby given that the said By-Laws respectively will: come into force on the 31st day of March, 1877. By-Law of the Thames County Council, made under special order of the said Council, dated the 30th day of January, 1877', confirmed the 28th day of February, 1877, and sealed with the common seal of the said Council the ofch day of March, 1877. In pursuance of tho powers vested in them under " The Counties Act, 1876," tho Council of the County of Thames ordain, as follows, that is to say—The word " Slaughter-house " shall, for the purpose of this By-Law, mean and include the Buildings, Yards, and Premises in respect of which any license maybe granted under such By-Law. (1).. No Building or Premises within the County: shall be usecl as: a place for -the Slaughtering of Sheep or Cattle not the, property of the owner of the Building or Premises, except licensed as hereinafter mentioned ; nor shall any Building or Premises, unless licensed as aforesaid, be used for the Slaughtering.of Sheep, Swine, Qr Cattle the property of the owner atter notice served, upon such owner, or left for him on such Premises, requiring such owner to discontinue such user, or ". to' take Out a, license under this By-Law for such Buildings and Premises. (2), Any owner or occupier of Premises may apply to the Council for a license to. use the same as a Slaughterhouse, such application to be in writing in the form set out in Schedule No. 1 hereto j affixed, and to be lodged with the County Clerk. v (3}t For' each" such license there shall > be paid ,by ,the licensee to the | County. Fund a fee of not less than-£5, «r £25 ; and eacli license shall remain in force until the 81st day of December - following the date of such license. v - ; _ ' ' -(4). Every , licensed Slaughter-house shall be kept clean,- and the Buildings scraped, lime-washed, and purified, so that no noxious or injurious effects may accrue to the public from such Slaughter- ' house.,- . • (5). Every licensee -shall keep at all times, legibly written with, ink, a Register in a-form to be obtained from the County Clerk, of all - Sheep and Cattio slaughtered at his licensed Premises, with the 1 brand or mark on each Sheep or Head of Cattle, and shall, if so directed by the Council, transmit tothe^County Clerk a copy of the entries made in such Kegister during the then previous seven dtys. ■'"■ ' •> (6). There shall-not bo admitted into any licensed Premises any Animal whicli^ from injury or other cause,, would not, when be fit for. human food ; nor shall there'be so,admitted the carcase of any .animal unfit for human feod. Every licensee shall give; immediate notice in writing to the • ltJ County Clerk, v and to the Inspector of. .Slaughter-bouses, of. t any diseased jimmal being brought to . such licensed Slaughter-house for slaughter. (8). AH animals received into pens, stalls, -or yards belonging to licensed Slaughter-houses shall .-.be properly watered and fed. (9). No animal shall, in such licensed Premises, bo to 1 any - pain not necessarily consequent upon or entailed by the act of slaughter. (1O)« Every licensee shall admit to the licensed Premises, at any hour of the day or'night, any Officer of the Council or of the Armed Constabulary. (11)' Any person guilty of any offence of omission or commission against this By-law, shall forfeit and pay "a sum 'not exceeding £5. Schedule Ko. 1.
