There are sixteen cases on the Supreme Court criminal calendar, including 3 for embezzlement, 3 forgeries, 3 arsons, 1 housebreabing. <
A fire last night was caused by an explosion of a paraffin lamp, which destroyed two seven-roomed houses, and damaged othe/s. TJie total loss was £1550? The insurances are :—New Zealand, £400; South British, £200; National, £400. The fire originated in the house of the Rev. Zacbariab, the Hebrew minister, who looses a lot of valuable' Hebrew works, which it is almost impossible to replace. : :
