TRANSFERS OP SHARKS. ] T is hereby notified, that,- after the let o .1 January 1876, the uee of Impressed Stamps upon Transfers of Shares is compulsory,but transfers of shares may be stampod at ft Stamp Office by the Commissioner or a Deputy Commissioner within oce mohth after execa ton wifhout a fi se. o Managers and Secretaries of Companies, Sharebi-okoH, and o'hers interested, are ro* commended to forward, without delay, such forme of Irunsfer as they may require to be impressed, accompanied by the usual requiiition and receipt from the Bank of New Zealand for amount thereof, less the authorised discount. Information may be obtained at an; Stamp Office, - .: ■ " The provisions of the Act relating hereto are as follow:— > " 47. No transfer of any share or shares of or tn the stock or funds of any corporation, company, or society whatever in New Zealand shall be registered, recorded, or entered in the boons of snch corporation, company, or society, unless such transfer is duly •tamped. 103. No instrument of sale or transfer of any share or shares shall be valid, eitiMrat law cr in equity, unless the name of tbMiirchaser or transferee is inserted therein at the time of or before the execution of the instrument of sale or transfer ; and, if any person cxcculos a rale-note, transfer, contract-note, or other instrument of sale or transfer, in any manner, or for any purpose whatsoever, un* IcES the i)Bine of the purchaser is inserted therein at the time or before the execution thereof, he shall forfeit a sum of not less than £20 or more than £100; and, if any such instrument is no made or signed, it shall be wholly and absolutely void and inoperative, and shall m no case bo made available bj the insertion of a same or any other particulars afterward*; and the person selling or tran*. fernng such share shall not be. divested of hit interest therein, but shall remain liable thereon ns if he had never sold or disposed ox the same. And if such person is a lionised tharebroker, his license shall, on any conviction under this section, ba absolutely forfeited, and he shnll not thereafter be qualified to set as a broker, or to hare a fresh license issued to him. No fee will be charged for registration. Persons registering will require to communicate the Cypher or Arbitrary Address to their Correspondents. The Telegraph Companies register names and addresses of telegraph correspondents free of charge, at all their Stations, and in London at 74, Old Broad street; 8, Leadenhall street; and 42,-Fins-bury Circus. Addresses may also be registered at any Government Telegraph Office in England or Scotland upon payment ef One Guinea to the Postmaster-General, London.
