County Council shall, for the purpose of this ByLaw, mean and include persons disposing of Goods or Wares (other than those of their own manufacture or production) from house to house. (2). Every licensee shall, when trading as such within the County, be required to have affixed on some conspicuous place on the exterior of his cart, dray, barrow, basket,: or other vehicle, a board or plate (to be supplied by the County Council) having the words '".County 1 of Thames, Licensed Hawker, No. ," legibly painted thereon, and no licensee shall transfer the f; ssrid.board or -plate to any other ~'_ person; ' : * (3). Any person requiring a Pedlar's or Hawker's license shall make application in writing to the County ;Clcrk, setting forth his name, occupation, and place of abode, and the Council may, on any such application, issue a license to the applicant authoriz- < ing him to carry on the occupapation of Pedlar and Hawker until the Ist day of February, which shall be next after, the ..date of such license. :,, •■ (4,).' For each' such license, if dated in February or July, or any intermediate month, the applicant shall pay a fee of £1 Is. od., and for licenses otherwise dated, a fee ; of one half of that sum. (5). Each license shall be numbered in succession'as issued, and shall be • .- registered according to its number. . (6). Any person Pedling or Hawking ..... • within the Thames County without being the holder of such a license as aforesaid, shall be liable to a penalty not exceeding £5. (7). Any; Hawker or Pedlar carrying on such business. within the County shall be deemed to be unlicensed unless he shall prove to the contrary by the production of his license, or otherwise. (8). Any licensee committing any offences of commission :br omission against this By-law shall forfeit any sum not exceeding £5; v (9). Any Licensee trading as such within the County who shall be guilty of drunkenness, using abusive language, extorting,money,, or passing unlawful noin, shall be deemed to have committed an offence against this By-Law. By-Law; pf.the Thames County Council, made by special order of the said Council, dated the 30th day of January, 1877, confirmed the 28th day of February, 1877, and sealed with the common seal of the Council the stb day of March, 1877. In pursuance of the powers vested in them under " The Counties Act, 1876," the Council of the Thames County ordain" as follows, that is to.:say-— The words " Public Pound "shall mean anyplace established or maintained as a Pound within the Thames County by the. Thames County Council, under the provisions of Section 200 of " The Counties Act, 1876." The word " Pound-keeper " shall mean any person who may have charge of such Pound. The Fees and charges to be taken and charged by any Pound-keeper shall be as follows •. — Poundage Fees. s. d. For every Horse, Mare, Gelding, Colt, Filly, Foal, Mule, or .
