MOANATAIRI.
A shot was fired this morning'in the leading stqpe in the eastern drive on the No. 9 reef, which brought down 4cwts of rich specimens. There is a good show left in the face. A shot.was also fired in the drive on the-reef last evening, and some stone with* good " splats " of gold in it were obtained, though not as good as the - specimens ' from the -.stope. The specimen' crushing- is< going on at present with the single stamper/ and at about 12 to-day some very rich stones were being crushed: ' The mine was thrown open to visitors to-day and nearly 150 persons availed themselves of the chance of seeing the reef. The candle smoke rendered .the gold on the face almost invisible in some places to those who came late. ;
