TRANSFERS OF SHAKES. 1T is hereby notified, that, after the lft o 1 January 1876, the usoof Impressed Stamp* upon Transfers of Shares is compulsory, but transfers of shares may be stamped at* Stamp Office by the Commissioner or a Deputy Commissioner withia one month after execu* ton wiihout a fine. • •. " ■ Managers and Secretaries of Companies, Sharebrokerg, and o'hers iatereeted, are re* commended to forward, without delay, such forms of transfer as they may require to be impressed, accompanied by the usual requiti* <ion and receipt from the Bank of New Zea< * land for amount thereof, less the authorised discount. - Information may be obtained at any Stamp Office. No trans/er of any share or shares of or in the stock or funds of any corporation^ company, or society whatever in New Zealand shall be registered, recorded, or entered in the -^^ books of such corporation, company, oi'^% society, unleßs such transfer is duly stamped. No instrument of sale or transfer of any share cr shares shall be valid, either at law or in equity, unless the name of the pur« chaser or transferee is inserted therein at thetime of or before the, execution of the instru-. ment t>f sale or transfer j and, if any parson exreutes a Fale»note, transfer, contract-note, or other instrument of sale or transfer, in any manner, or for any purpose whatsoever, on* lees the name of the purchaser is inserted, therein at tho time or before the execution thereof, he shall forfeit a sum of not leu than £20 or more than £100 j and, if any nek' instrument is «o~made or signed, it shall be wholly and absolutely void and inoperative, and shall xn.no case be made available fey the " insertion of a same or any other partioulan afterwards; and the person selling or trane-r ferring such 'sb.arei.shaU not be divested of hi* interest therein, but shall remain , liable, thereon as if he had never sold or disposed oi the same. .
