• The crushing for this mine is proceeding at the Moanajairi battery with 10 head of stampers, and is looking well. The staff crushing is chiefly taken from beyond the slide—a part of the reef not tried before. Forster and party, who have been crushing during last week at the Moanatairi battery, cleaned upon Saturday afternoon and letortcd this morning for the satisfactory return of 13kzs lOdwts gold. The parcel crushed consisted of 60 tons I of generpl dirt and 501bs of picked stone. '' The'latter, however, did not much assist I the return only yielding oOozs of amal- | gam," so that the bulk of the yield has , been derived from the general stuff. In addition to the shareholders the section , employs several-wages men, and since the company has' taken ovr' Allen's and Barclay's section it has become the best, or one of the bast paying sections in-the m'ie. The-late crushing foij Laphara aad party was for the purpose ot ,squaring-up accounts, 'to enable some of - tbe shareholders to go out of .the vribute.
