About' 30 tons of quartz from this claim had been delivered at the Missouri battery, and were being crushed with a promise of nearly an ouiice to the ton, when the crushing had to be stopped owing to the fall ofi-a bridge over, the main creek. The recent floods had completely undermined one end of 'tho.bridge, the state of which was concealed by drift wood. The driver, horse and truck all went down together, and although, the truck was turned bottom up the driver pluckily stuck to the horse's head, soon.
soothed him, and extricated him from Id's dangerous predicament unhurt. Prompt measures hare been taken by the tramway lessees to put the bridge to rights again.
