IT is hereby notifieil, thai, afterLhe Ist o i January 187G, the use of Impressed Stamps upon Transfers of Shares ia compulsory, but transfers of shares may bo stamped at a Stamp Office by the Commissioner or a- Deputy Commissioner within oue month after oxecut;on without a fi'ie. . \ MaTJßg«s and Secretaries of Companies, Sharcbrokerß, and 01-hers ifileresfed, are recominonded to forward, without delay, euch 1 forms of fmne/er as they may require to be impressed, accompanied by the,usual requisition and receipt from the Bant of New Zealand for amount thereof, less the authorized discount. Information may be obtained at any Stamp Office. - The provisions of tha Act relating hWeto ore as follow :— ■ •• ' " 47. (1.) Except where express provision is made to tho contrary, all duties are.to be denoted by impressed Btumps only." ; " 102. No' transfer of any share or shares of or in the stock or funds of any coiporation, company, or society whatever in New Zealand shall bo registered, recorded, or entered in the books of such corporation, company, or society, unless such transfer is duly stamped. , " 103. No instrument of sale orjranefer of any share or shares Bhall be valußßTther at law or in equity, unless the name of^ho purchaser or transferee is inserted therein at the i time of or before the.execution of the instru- ■ ment of sale or transfer ; and,' if any'person executes a nale^note; transfer, contraefrnote. or other instrument of sale or transfer, in any manner, or for any purpose whatsoever, un* lees the name of the purchaser' is inserted therein at the time or. before the execution thereof, he shall forfeit a sum of not less than £20 or more than £100; and, if anj such instrument is so made or sighed, It shall be wholly and absolutely void and inoperatire, and Bhall in no case be made available by the insertion of a name or any'other particular! afterwards; and the person selling or trans-, ferring such share shall not be divested of his interest therein, but shall remain liable thereon as if he had never sold or disposed 01 the same. And if such person is 4 licensed share broker, his license shall, on any coaviction under Ibis section, ba absolutely forfeited, and he shall not thereafter be qualified to act as a broker, or to have a fresh license issued to him.
