WAITEKAURI.
The following report was received this morning :-—Waitekauri MitfeV ' -" March 3rd, 1877.—Directors of the Waitekauri Goldmining and Quartz Crushing pany. Gentlemen,—Since my last week's report I have sunk the No.'. 2 - winze a further distance of six feet; making it 100 feet. At that depth the air was so bad that I could not keep a candle burning, so I had .to stop sinking and push'on the main drive. I have driven.that up,to the line of the winze, and put up a rise fifteen feet, and have holed through to the.No. 2 winze. The distance of the drive from the .winze to the mouth of the Golden Point cross-cut is 800 feet. ' On the Tootwall of the rise I cut a small leader about three inches in thickness showing 1 "gold. It will take nic about six dayt to'-timber the drive and centre the lower portion of the winze so that I can use it for a qnartz pass. I will then be able to start to Break quartz, and I believe will ha?e sufficient on hand by the 19th to start the battery.— I remain, etc, Cms. Wilson, mine manager.
