_ General Notices " STAMP ACT, 1875." TRANSFERS OF SHARES. | T i« hereby notified, that, after the Ist o 1 January 1876, the use of Impressed Stamps upon Trarsfers of Shares is compulsory, but transfers of shares may be stamped at a Stamp Office by the Commissioner or a Deputy Commissioner within one month after executfon without a fine. Managers and Secretaries of Companies, Sharebrokere, nnd o'hers isteresled, are recommended to forward, without delay, such forms of transfer jib they may require to be impressed, accompanied by the ueual requisition and receipt from the Bank of New Zealand for amount thereof, loss the authorised discount. ' • ;• ■ Information mny be obtained at any Stamp Office.* , The provisions of the Act relating hereto ' are as follow :— „-, - " 47. (1.) Except where express provision is mai'e to the contrary, all duties are to be denoted by impressed stamps only." | " 102. No transfer of any share or sharet of or in the stock or funds of any corporation, company, or society whatever in New Zealand shall be registered, recorded, or entered in the books of such corporation, company, or society, unless such transfer is duly stamped. 103. No instrument of sale or transfer of any share or Bhares shall be valid, either at law or m equity, unless the name of the-pnr> chaser or transferee is insertod therein at the time of,or before the execution of the instrument of sale or transfer-} and, if any person executes a sale-note, transfer, contract-note* or other instrument of sale or transfer,in any manner, or for any purpose whatsoever, un* Ipfs the name of the purchaser is inserted therein at the time or before the execution* thereof, he shall forfeit a sum of not less than £20 or more than £100; and, if any' such instrument is so made or signed, it shall be wholly and absolutely void and inoperative; and shallin no case be made available!by the insertion of a name or any other particulars afterwards; and the person selling or transv ferring such share shall not bo divested of: hi* interest therein, but shall remain liable thereon as if he had never sold or disposed oi the same. And if such person is a liceßsed share broker, his. licenso shall, on any conviction under. Ibis section, bo absolutely for* , feited, and he shall not thereafter be qualified I to act as a, broker, or to have a fresh license | : issued to him. " 104.
