' A meeting of inhabitants of-this place was held in the Commercial Hotel, Leahyville, on Saturday night to consider the' best means to be employed to persuade ~ he County Council to expend some money," \ upon improving and repairing thtt Paeroa " and Waitekauri track before the* winter^ sets in. Mr Goon an was called to the chair and introduced the business of the meeting in a few suitable remarks. After ', a little discussion Mr Sullivan proposed and Mr Shaw seconded a resolution, urging upon-the Council the urgent necessity of something being done in the matter ntf
once. A petition to that effect signed by all hands is also to be forwarded, with resolutions passed. An abrupt close was put to the meeting as a dog figbt took place outside, and everybody adjourned to see the finish, and appeared to take more...
